Shooting Films in Historic French Locations

According to the article, "Historic Sites Lure Shoots," by Lisa Klaussmann, French historic sites have been very difficult and expensive to make movies in. Because of this, many film makers have gone to other locations. However, recently movies, such as "The Da Vinci Code" and "Marie-Antoinette" have begun to be made in places like the Louvre and Versailles. "To keep French production local as well as attracting foreign films, the culture minister has decided to try to woo filmmakers to Gaul." Many have appreciated these places of art including filmmakers and find inspiration in them. Because of this, the cost of filming in historic French sites has been decreasing. Viewers can anticipate more footage from these locations.
